JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's softball team finished the season against Siena at Jaroschak Field Friday afternoon celebrating three seniors,
Dakota Pitts,
Jess Forte and
Kasidy Slusser.
"I'm very proud of them and what they've accomplished here," head coach
Alyssa Ruiz said about the three seniors as the season came to a close. "I wish them all nothing but success in the future."
The Peacocks (13-35, 4-22 MAAC) didn't get the result they had hoped for in their final game, falling 0-11 to the Saints (33-19-1, 16-17-1 MAAC), but the ceremony honoring the three seniors prior to the game showed just how close of a team they were.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Peacocks went down 0-3 to start the game in the top of the first inning. After the first, Slusser got into groove in the circle and pitched two straight scoreless innings.
Saint Peter's had an opportunity to put runs on the board with the bases loaded, but Siena's pitcher notched a strikeout to close the inning.
The Saints scored one more run in the fourth to make it 4-0 as the Peacocks continued to struggle getting on base. Siena was able to see the bats get hots in the final two innings as Saint Peter's fell 0-11.
