FAIRFIELD, Conn.- Saint Peter's Softball lost both doubleheader contests to Sacred Heart University on Tuesday afternoon at Pioneer Park.
Although the first game was not very competitive, the second game went into extra innings and the Peacocks had multiple chances to get a win. Unfortunately, the Peacocks fell in extra innings in game two, which prompted the doubleheader sweep in favor of the Pioneers.
Game One Recap
With a 5-1 lead over Saint Peter's in the sixth inning, the Pioneers poured on four runs to conclude the game one inning early.

In the bottom of the sixth inning,
Jess Forte made an incredible diving play near the left field foul line. That play could stand as one of the best defensive plays of the 2025 season.
Morgan Lipansky received the loss in the circle for the Peacocks.
Junior third baseman
Tai Turner walked in a run with the bases loaded in the third inning, which turned out to be the team's only run of the first game.
Game Two Recap
With the game extended to the ninth inning, Sacred Heart closed out the 7-6 win over Saint Peter's.
Sacred Heart was on the brink of losing by one run until the Pioneers scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. Ultimately, the Pioneers scored the game-winning run to complete the come-from-behind victory for the Pioneers.
In terms of Saint Peter's production,
Angelina Wagner was a major contributor to the Peacocks' performance in the second game. In the top of the first inning, Wagner cleared the bases with a three-run double.
Following Tuesday's pair of losses, Saint Peter's dropped to 9-18 on the season.
