Peacocks Shift Focus To Manhattan

RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's men's basketball team looks to bounce back against Manhattan at Draddy Gymnasium on Saturday at 2 p.m. ET.

The Peacocks (7-12, 2-9 MAAC) opened up conference play against the Jaspers (10-10, 5-6 MAAC) back in December and Manhattan got the best of Saint Peter's that day. In the first meeting between the two teams, the Peacocks fell to the Jaspers by a score of 67-70.

SPU held a 38-35 lead at halftime after going 8-for-13 from 3-point range, but struggled from deep in the second half, going 1-for-11. For the Peacocks, Armoni Zeigler led the team in scoring in that contest with 18 points followed by Marcus Randolph who notched 13.

If Saint Peter's wants to avenge its loss from earlier this season, it will need to play a complete game over 60 minutes. Head coach Bashir Mason has said all season that we are yet to see true Saint Peter's basketball for a full 60 minutes. The Peacocks are locked in on accomplishing that on Saturday.

ABOUT THE JASPERS
The Jaspers are in eighth place in the MAAC and have won two of their last three games. The one loss came last Sunday when they fell to Sacred Heart, 72-74, on the road.

Manhattan is led by freshman Will Sydnor who is averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game. The 6'8" forward is also pulling in 6.9 rebounds and racking up 1.3 blocks per game. Sydnor has recorded three double doubles this season, and in the last matchup against Saint Peter's he put up 16 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

Manhattan is coached by John Gallagher who is in his second season as the head coach of the Jaspers.
