ALBANY, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's men's basketball team is set to face Siena on Thursday, Feb. 6 with a 7 p.m. ET tipoff at the MVP Center.
The Peacocks (7-11, 2-8 MAAC) are looking to get back on track with a win over the Saints (10-12, 5-6 MAAC) after losing their last three games. Despite Saint Peter's struggles, its two conference wins have come on the road and the team will look to pick up its third Thursday night.
Against Mount St. Mary's,
Tyreck Morris saw his most minutes in a game all season with 27. He finished with 11 points, going 5-for-11 from the field.
Marcus Randolph scored a team-high 18 points while adding five rebounds and three assists.
Armoni Zeigler had a similar impact, recording 17 points, four boards and three assists.
The Peacocks defense has been a force all season but had a tough time against the Mountaineers last week. Saint Peter's still ranks second in the MAAC in scoring defense, allowing just 64.2 points per game. On the other side, Siena is letting up 72.1 points per game to their opponents.
ABOUT THE SAINTS
The Saints are coming off an impressive win over Quinnipiac at MVP Arena last week, snapping their two-game losing streak and moving to 5-6 in conference play. Siena is currently tied for seventh in the MAAC with Manhattan who the Peacocks will play Saturday.
The Saints are led by Justice Shoats who leads the team in scoring, assists and steals. He's averaging 15.3 points, 4.3 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Major Freeman has also been impactful for Siena, recording 13.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game.
Siena is coached by Gerry McNamara who is in his first season as the head coach of the Saints..
