EMMITSBURG, Md. – The Saint Peter's men's basketball team is back on the road to play Mount St. Mary's at Knott Arena on Friday at 7 p.m. ET. This will be the second meeting between the two teams as the Peacocks fell to the Mountaineers earlier in February.
The Peacocks (9-13, 4-10 MAAC) are coming off back-to-back wins this past weekend with victories over Fairfield and Rider and they look to continue that momentum Friday night. Mount St. Mary's is also coming off two wins in its most recent matchups against Niagara and Canisius.
With just six games remaining for Saint Peter's in the regular season, every game is crucial as the Peacocks are on the cusp of making the MAAC Tournament. This year, since adding two teams to the conference, the top 10 of 13 teams will make the postseason. The Peacocks currently sit one game behind 10th place, so a win in Emmitsburg would be very beneficial.
ABOUT THE MOUNTAINEERS
The Mountaineers (15-10, 8-6 MAAC) are currently sitting in fourth place in the MAAC. Like the Peacocks, they are on a two-game winning streak with a one-point 84-83 win over Niagara and a 73-66 victory over Canisius.
Three of the five probable starters for Mount St. Mary's average double-digit points this season. Dola Adebayo and Dallas Hobbs both average 12.6 points per game while Jedy Cordilia is putting up 10.5. Adebayo also averages 6.1 rebounds per game while Cordilia averages a team-high 7.7. Hobbs is the facilitator, putting up 3.1 assists per game.
Mount St. Mary's is coached by Donny Lind who is in his first season as the head coach of the Mountaineers.
