Box Score Villanova, Pa.- The Saint Peter's University Men's Soccer team drew with Villanova University, 2-2, on Thursday afternoon at Higgins Soccer Complex.
Game Notes
- Kaloyan Somov's goal in the 80th minute secured a 2-2 draw for the Peacocks.
- Before that goal with 10 minutes to go, Villanova held a 2-1 lead after Jorge Gacria's goal in the 56th minute.
- Tim Strele scored Saint Peter's first goal of the match within the first 10 minutes.
- Saint Peter's head coach Julian Richens gave his thoughts on his team's offensive performance:
- "I thought we showed some real quality flashes of what we can be capable of. To score two goals in open play away from home against a Big East program is pleasing."
- Saint Peter's attempted seven shots with five shots on goal.
- "It's a solid away result to start the season with some good positives as well as one or two things we need to work on and improve as we go forward in the season," Richens said.
