JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's softball team concluded its series against the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Wednesday, Apr. 10 at Jaroschak Field. The Peacocks dropped Wednesday's game against the Bobcats 7-1.

The Peacocks tallied eight hits in the game and had three errors. The Bobcats finished the game with seven hits.

Quinnipiac capitalized off SPU fielding errors in the third and fourth innings, scoring two runs in each inning. After Brooke Hilliard's sacrifice bunt, the Bobcats led 4-0.

QU scored three runs in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on second and third, Natalia Apatiga hit a two-RBI double. The next batter, QU's Mary Fogg hit an RBI single to right field which extended QU's lead to 7-0.

SPU's lone run was scored in the bottom of the seventh inning. Saint Peter's freshman Ashley Murphy hit her second career double to center field, followed by a single from Sydney Orndorff. With runners on first and third, Cara McNulty grounded out to third base and earned the RBI.

QU pitcher Jaclyn Gonzalez picked up the win in the circle for the Bobcats. Gonzalez pitched a complete game and gave up one earned run with six strikeouts.

The Peacocks are 12-21 on the season and 2-7 in MAAC play.
The Peacocks will travel to Riverdale, New York, for a three-game series against the Manhattan Jaspers (6-27, 3-6 MAAC) this weekend. On Saturday, the Peacocks and Jaspers will square off in a doubleheader that begins at noon. On Sunday, April, 14th the Peacocks and Jaspers will play one game at noon.
