Box Score Vestal, N.Y.- The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team toppled Binghamton University, 3-1, at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Tuesday evening.
Game Notes
- In Tuesday night's game, the Peacocks rode an offensive explosion for a pivotal non-conference win.
- For most of the first half, it was a defensive matchup. In the 38th minute, forward Tim Strele put Saint Peter's ahead, 1-0, with a goal.
- In the final seconds of the first half, Mikkel Fodstad gave Saint Peter's some breathing room with a second goal of the half.
- Coming out of halftime, Strele made his presence known again by scoring his second goal of the evening. That goal put Saint Peter's ahead of Binghamton, 3-0.
- Binghamton prevented Saint Peter's from having a clean sheet following a goal by Anthony Lazaridis with 33 minutes left in the match.
Inside The Numbers
- Saint Peter's goalkeeper Pedro Alves and the defense managed to nullify Binghamton's 14 shots through 90 minutes. Alves made three saves.
- Alves also had a role in the offense, as he was credited with an assist on the team's second goal.
- Strele scored for the first time this season, and he added an extra goal for good measure.
- Strele, Fodstad, and Lex Vaughan each attempted two shots for Saint Peter's.
