PITTSBURGH, PA. - The Saint Peter's men's basketball team (3-5, 2-0 MAAC) dropped a nonconference game against Duquesne (7-2) 68-59 at the UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse Friday night.Â

Three Peacocks scored in double figures. Corey Washington led Saint Peter's with 12 points on 3-5 FG and 1-2 from three. Armoni Zeigler tied a career-high with ten points off the bench. Mouhamed Sow tallied a season-high 10 points with four rebounds and two blocks. Sow shot 100% (2-2) from three-point range.Â

The Dukes shot 44% (12-27 FG) in the first half. With 6:14 left before halftime, the Peacocks trailed 25-16. SPU responded with a 6-0 run that featured three-pointers from Zeigler and Sow. At 1:10 before halftime, Zeigler drained a three-pointer which cut the Duquesne lead to 32-30. The Dukes added a free throw and basket and led 35-30 at halftime.Â

The Peacocks shot 50% in the second half (12-24 FG) and 42% from three-point range. The Dukes went 8-24 FG in the second half.Â

Michael Hogue heated up in the second half. The SPU junior scored 9 straight points for the Peacocks. At 13:30, Hogue forced a steal and finished a fast break with a layup. Hogue leads the Peacocks with 12.3 points per game this season.Â

The game got tight down the stretch as Saint Peter's rattled off eight straight points. At 7:12, Latrell Reid hit a pull-up jump shot. The run was capped when Zeigler assisted Brent Bland for a perimeter three and SPU trailed 59-55 with 6:59 left. The Dukes scored nine of the last 14 points in the game and held on.Â

Duquesne was led by Dae Dae Grant who scored 19 points.
