JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's Men's Basketball team (4-5, 2-0 MAAC) hosts Kean (6-6) on Friday. All general admissions tickets will be sold at $5 each and kids under 12 will be free at Run Baby Run Arena.
Overview
In Saint Peter's last game, the Peacocks picked up a 66-60 win over UMBC (5-9) in Jersey City on Tuesday, Dec. 12. Latrell Reid notched career-high marks in points and steals as he scored 20 points and defensively had eight steals. In the second half up two with under five minutes to play, SPU went on an 8-0 run. The run featured a steal and fast break dunk from Armoni Zeigler with 3:51 left in the game. SPU closed out the game with free throws and stamped the 66-60 victory. Saint Peter's caused 21 turnovers and had 20 points off turnovers. The Peacocks generated 14 steals in the game which is a game-high in the MAAC conference this season.
Michael Houge currently leads the Peacocks with 11.9 points per game and 6.6 rebounds per game this season. SPU has displayed depth as its bench has outscored its opponents' bench 247-130. The Peacocks are currently second in the MAAC in defense (64.0 points per game).
Kean (6-6) fell 67-55 to Christopher Newport on Tuesday, Dec. 19. The Cougars are led by Griffin Barker. The fifth-year forward is averaging a double-double this season (19.5 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game).
