Men's Basketball Takes On FDU In "Battle of the Bracket Busters" Wednesday

JERSEY CITY, NJ. - The Saint Peter's men's basketball team (1-1) travels to Stratis Arena in Hackensack, NJ for an in-state matchup with FDU (2-1).

• This game has been labeled as the "Battle of the Bracket Busters."  

• These two programs have made deep runs in March Madness over the last two years. In the 2022 March Madness Tournament, Saint Peter's made a run to the Elite Eight after it knocked off 2-seed Kentucky, 7-seed Murray State, and 3-seed Purdue.

• As a sixteen seed, FDU made a run to the second round in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. The Knights defeated 16-seed Texas Southern in the First Four and  stunned 1-seed Purdue.

         

Team Records

• The Saint Peter's men's basketball team (1-1) picked up its first win of the season in dominant fashion over NJIT (0-2) 75-48. Four Peacocks finished in double figures led by Corey Washington's career-high 23 points. 

• FDU defeated Buffalo 92-86 on Monday, Nov. 6. The Knights split their next two games as they beat Penn State Brandywine 107-63 on Wednesday, Nov. 8, and fell to Seton Hall 85-55 on Saturday, Nov. 11.

• SPU is 42-16 all-time versus FDU.

• Tip-off is set for 7:00. The game can be watched on the YES Network.

• Following this game Saint Peter's hosts Umass Lowell in its home opener at Run Baby Run Arena on Monday, Nov. 20.
