Volleyball, Women’s Soccer, and Men’s Soccer Take on Canisius Saturday; Volleyball Visits Niagara on Sunday

VOLLEYBALL

BUFFALO, NY – Saint Peter's women's volleyball is on the hunt for its first win when it visits Canisius and Niagara this weekend.

 

The Basics

Peacocks by the Numbers

  • Freshman middle blocker Morgan Thurlow has been the leader on offense, tallying a team high 111 kills and 137 points.
  • Freshman setter Lillian Konrad has guided the attack with 264 assists.
  • Freshman middle blocker Elena Bilhartz has tallied a team-high 53 total blocks.
  • Freshman Laken Dillon leads the team in digs with 164.
Other Side of the Net
  • Canisius comes into the match with the Peacocks 6-9 and 4-2 in MAAC play.
  • This will be the 44th matchup between the Peacocks and the Golden Griffins. Canisius leads the series 33-10.
  • The two teams split their two meetings last year, with each team winning 3-1 at home.
  • Niagara comes into the match with the Peacocks 4-12 and 2-4 in MAAC play
  • This will be the 44th matchup between the Peacocks and the Purple Eagles. Niagara leads the series 24-19.

The Kick Off

  • The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team continues conference play on Saturday afternoon as they host Canisius.
  • Saint Peter's is coming off of a 4-3 loss against Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday. Sophomore defender Daniel Blackmore, sophomore forward Mikkel Fodstad, and junior forward Conlan Paventi all scored for the Peacocks. Freshman midfielder Reiss Skeen provided two assists.

Series with the Golden Griffins

  • Saint Peter's will face off against Canisius for the 33rd time on Saturday.
  • The Peacocks are 15-16-1 all-time against the Golden Griffins.
  • The Peacocks have won four straight over Canisius.

Team Leaders

  • Paventi, Blackmore, and Fodstad each have two goals this season. Freshman forward Lex Vaughan, freshman forward Teodor Linn, senior defender Tom Climpson, and freshman midfielder Reiss Skeen each have one goal for the Peacocks.
  • Skeen has six of the eight assists recorded by Saint Peter's this season. He leads the team in points with seven. He is tied for eighth in Division I for assists.
  • Fodstad and senior defender Tom Climpson have the other two assists.
  • Graduate goalkeeper Guillem Badenes Mecho has made 38 saves in ten appearances.
