Men’s Soccer Rounds out Non-Conference Slate with Lafayette Tuesday

The Intro

• The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team finishes non-conference play as they host the Lafayette College Leopards from the Patriot League on Tuesday.
• The Peacocks are coming off a 2-0 win versus Sacred Heart this past Saturday.
• All three of the Leopards wins have come against teams the Peacocks have lost to. Their one tie was against Bucknell, who the Peacocks beat.
• The men will look to continue their dominance in Jersey City, as they have posted a combined 10-1 regular season record and 11-3 overall record over the last three seasons when playing at Jaroschak Field.

Series with the Leopards

• Saturday's matchup will be the 11th meeting between the Peacocks and the Pioneers, dating all the way back to 1989.
• Saint Peter's has a 1-9-1 record all-time against Lafayette.
• The two sides last met on August 29, 2014, with the Peacocks losing by a score of 1-0 in Easton, Pennsylvania. 
• The Peacocks last beat Lafayette in 2007, winning by a score of 2-1 in overtime on September 2nd in Easton.

Davis Dimes

• Senior midfielder Jamie Davis has been on a tear to start the 2021 campaign. He has recorded five assists in as many games played, including two last time out against Sacred Heart.
• He is currently tied eighth all-time with Juan Gaviria ('07) for career assists with 17.
• The assist tally is his second most for a season in his career, trailing only his sophomore year when he posted seven for the campaign.
• Davis has also scored two goals this season. He leads the team in points (9).

• The Peacocks open up Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) play next Wednesday, September 29th, when they host Fairfield University with kick off scheduled for 2 p.m.
