Match Notes
  • Saint Peter's took advantage of six attack mishaps by Quinnipiac -- five straight -- jumping out to a fast 6-1 lead.
  • The Peacocks would be outscored 2-12, to lose the lead and ultimately only tally six total points the rest of the way, dropping the opening game 12-25.
  • An early kill by Brianna Jones to start game number two would be the Peacocks lone lead in the set, eventually falling 13-25.
  • Game three was off to a competitive start, with a block from Stephanie Rivera and a pair of kills by Wildalys Soto and Angeleyshka Curbelo put SPU ahead 4-2.
  • The Peacocks maintained a two-point lead after a bad set and service error by the Bobcats (6-4).
  • Despite the good start by the visiting squad, Quinnipiac outscored SPU 21-9 from that point on, taking the third game and match from the Peacocks.
Inside the Numbers
  • Despite falling in straight sets, Saint Peter's had one of its best defensive matches at the net, blocking a season-tying 15 attacks (12 ba, 3 bs).
  • Suzzanne Bigelow ended her afternoon with a team-high four kills, two block assists, and one block solo.
  • Alanis Alvarado, Curbelo, and Soto each tallied three kills.
  • Freshman Charlee Cordts posted a career-best 16 digs, while Rivera led the team with five kills (4 ba, 1 bs).
Coach's Quotes – Joe Chojnacki

  • "Charlee Cordts and Suzzanne Bigelow I thought both played really well for us today."
  • "We really have to step up our offensive game as a team tomorrow against Fairfield."
Up Next
