Men’s Soccer Drops Match versus Monmouth

JERSEY CITY, NJ- The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team lost to Monmouth University by a score of 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Jaroschak Field.

Game Notes:

• Senior midfielder Jamie Davis had a shot less than a minute into the game, but it went wide.
• After that, Monmouth was on the front foot, as they scored in the twelfth minute to take a 1-0 lead.
• Junior goalkeeper Herman Wulff made a couple of key saves in the first half to keep the score at 1-0 going into halftime.
• Two minutes into the second half, the Peacocks were awarded a penalty, but the attempt was off target.
• Davis had a good chance in the 55th minute from just inside the box, but his shot was saved.
• The Peacocks continued to apply pressure throughout the second half, but they were unable to get the tying goal.

• Wulff made four saves.
• Saint Peter's registered eleven shots, two of which were on target.
• Sophomore midfielder Matt Ellis, freshman midfielder Alex Costa, senior forward Matt Hoyt, and senior defender Brian Carvalhoso all were given a yellow card.
