Men’s Soccer Looks to Win Its Third Straight Game at Rider on Saturday

The Intro

  • The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team continues conference play as they visit the Rider University Brons on Saturday.
  • The Peacocks are coming off a great team performance in a 3-1 victory over Canisius this past Wednesday.
  • Junior forward Antonio Green scored his first career goal in the win.

Series with the Broncs

  • Wednesday's matchup will be the 35th meeting between the Peacocks and the Broncs, dating all the way back to 1964.
  • The Peacocks have a 14-19-1 record all-time against Rider.

  • Green scored his first of the season.
  • Senior defender Brian Carvalhoso, sophomore forward Conlan Paventi and Ellis also picked up assists in the win.

A Look to the Postseason

  • The Peacocks currently sit third in the MAAC after their win over Canisius.
  • Including Saturday's matchup, the Peacocks still play three of the bottom four teams in the current MAAC standings.
  • Saint Peter's has already played the other three teams in the top four, posting a 1-2 record against those opponents.
  • The Peacocks find themselves only three points clear of the drop zone, as they still have work to do to lock up a playoff berth.
