First Up:
- The Saint Peter's University softball team returns to Maryland on Wednesday (March 11) for a doubleheader against the Coppin State Eagles. The first game is scheduled for 1 p.m.
- The Peacocks last played in the Pirate Invitational from March 6-8, hosted by Hampton and Norfolk State, in which the team went 1-3, securing their first win of the season against Norfolk State.
- Anja Solveig Kane led the Peacocks at the plate in their exchange with the Spartans, going 2-for-3 on the day and recording a team-high two RBI's.
- Sophomore pitcher Sydney Senerchia ended the tournament with an impressive run on the mound, finishing the last two games with a combined .955 ERA through six innings pitched.
- Freshmen Brandi Feeney and Cara McNulty combined for four RBI's in the invitational, while Feeney picked up her second home run of the season, sending a shot over the left field fence against Drexel.
Peacocks against the Eagles
- The Peacocks enter Wednesday's slate with an all-time record of 5-4 against the Eagles, dating back to the first meeting between the two sides on March 2, 2013.
- 2019 marked the first year in which the two teams met outside of tournament-play, splitting the doubleheader last season in Maryland with the Peacocks falling in the first game 2-1, but rallying and taking a 12-2 win in the second matchup.
- Alina Guevara and Georgia Verrastro will look to repeat last year's success against Coppin State, as Guevara finished the second game with an outstanding four RBI's while Verrastro added two of her own.
- Saint Peter's will look for its second win over Coppin State in Baltimore, having accomplished the feat only once in their victory last season.
