Things to Know Before the Trip to Western NY
All-Time Series with Niagara
  • Saint Peter's and Niagara will have an encounter in the 88th all-time meeting on Thursday night.
  • The Peacocks trail the Purple Eagles 36-51 overall, dating back to 1937 and are 22-38 against the Western New York school since Niagara joined the MAAC in 1989-90.
  • Saint Peter's has won four straight, five out of the last six, and seven in the past 10 meetings against Niagara dating back to 2014-15.
  • When the two teams met in Jersey City on Jan. 26, the Peacocks dominated the Purple Eagles in a 58-53 wire-to-wire victory.
  • Saint Peter's will look to earn a regular season series sweep over Niagara in consecutive years following last season's sweep of the team, an accomplishment the team has not completed in almost a decade, last posting back-to-back sweeps in 2009-10 and 2010-11.
On a Heater
  • Saint Peter's enters another week of MAAC play as the hottest team in the conference, currently riding a league-best five game winning streak --- the five-game regular season winning streak is the longest for the team since winning the final six contests of the 2016-17 regular season.
  • The squad has produced wins in nine out of the last 10 games dating back to Jan. 26 --- the program's best run since winning 11 out of 12 games through the end of the regular season, MAAC tournament, and CIT in 2016-17.
  • The mark is the program's best streak during the regular season since 1995-96, when that Peacock team opened the season in winners of nine out of the first 10 games.
  • In conference play, Saint Peter's owns a league-best 12-5 record --- the most for the program since the 2016-17 team which produced 14 total conference wins.
  • The Peacocks have secured a First-Round bye in the MAAC Championship --- also a first since 2016-17.
  • Dating back to Jan. 18, the Peacocks have also posted a conference-leading 10-2 record.

Unprecedented Rookie Achievement
  • On Feb. 24, rookie guard Doug Edert became the fifth different Peacock true-freshman in 2019-20 to claim at least one MAAC Pepsi Zero Rookie of the Week honor.
  • The quintet of Edert, Daryl Banks III, Fousseyni Drame, Hassan Drame, and Aaron Estrada make Saint Peter's the first MAAC team in known history to achieve this feat, surpassing the 2015-16 Fairfield University team which had four individuals claim the award.
  • In total, the five newcomers have combined to win eight rookie weekly accolades, breaking the program record of seven rookie weekly honors, which was set in 1996-97.
  • The eight total weekly awards are one shy of the Saint Peter's program record of nine total, which was set in 2003-04 by Keydren Clark (four players of the week) and Shane Nichols (five rookie of the weeks) --- the total also leads all other MAAC schools during the 2019-20 season.

Next Up
  • Saint Peter's will remain in Buffalo, taking on Canisius on Saturday afternoon in the final road game of the season.
  • The Peacocks will then return to New Jersey for the regular-season finale against Iona (Mar. 6) before heading to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City for the 2020 MAAC Championship.
