Opening Tip
  • After posting back-to-back wins, the men's basketball program will travel to the University of Maryland on Friday, Dec. 4 for a 3 p.m. tip at the XFINITY Center in College Park.
  • The Peacocks were added to the Terrapins schedule due to Maryland's previously scheduled game against George Mason being canceled Wednesday morning due to a positive Covid-19 test within the Mason program.
  • The men snagged their second win of the season after toppling Stony Brook 82-68 in the home-opener on Tuesday night at the John Moore Athletics Center on the campus of NJCU.
  • The lopsided affair produced Saint Peter's season-high marks in points (82), made baskets (31), made 3-pointers (12), steals (12), and blocks (5), while the unit shot 47 percent from the floor (31-66), well over 50 percent from downtown (12-22, 54.5%) and 80 percent at the line (8-10).
  • Four different Peacocks scored in double figures for the second time in three games led by a career night from junior Dallas Watson (18 points), followed by Fousseyni Drame (13), KC Ndefo (12) and Tarojae Brake (10).

Things to Know Before Friday's Game
Series History
  • Saint Peter's and Maryland will battle for just the third time ever on Friday afternoon, with the Peacocks seeking their first win against the Power-5 conference team.
  • Both of the previous meetings have taken place in College Park, Maryland with the first having been played at Cole Field House in 1981 and the second in 2016 at the XFINITY Center.
  • Saint Peter's was defeated 49-42, on Nov. 27, 1981 in the inaugural tilt and dropped the second meeting 66-56, on Dec. 10, 2016.

Outstanding Opening
  • Led by the reigning MAAC Coach of the Year Shaheen Holloway, Saint Peter's men's basketball is out to a 2-1 start to the 2020-21 campaign; the program's best three game start in out of conference action since going 3-0 at the beginning of the 2012-13 season.
  • The double-digit margin of victory over La Salle (62-51) and Stony Brook (82-68) are the most in back-to-back out of conference matches since 2016 when the Peacocks throttled FDU (84-58) and Boston U. (80-67) in succession.
  • The two straight wins were also the first pair of consecutive non-conference wins under Holloway's leadership.

Early Hardware
  • While the Peacocks, as a team, settled for runner-up honors for the season-opening Lapchick Tournament hosted by St. John's, two individuals claimed all-tournament accolades in sophomore Fousseyni Drame and junior KC Ndefo.
  • The two wings finished the week with impressive stat lines; Drame posted a team-high 31 points over the two games (15.5 ppg) and hauled down 13 boards (6.5 rpg) while adding a team-high four steals and a block.
  • Those efforts earned Drame his first career MAAC Player of the Week award; he was named the top weekly rookie three times in 2019-20.
  • Ndefo finished with 27 points between the two games (13.5) and held the slight edge with 14 rebounds; the reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Year is living up to those accolades with four blocks and three steals through two games.
Looking Ahead
  • The Peacocks' next scheduled game as of now is their opening weekend of MAAC play when they host Niagara on back-to-back days December 11-12. The 2020-21 schedule, however, remains fluid and additional games remain a possibility and will be announced in the near future.
