Opening Tip
  • The Saint Peter's Peacocks travel north to Hartford, CT to take on the Connecticut Huskies Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the XL Center.
  • The game will begin a three-game road stretch to close out the non-conference ledger for the men's basketball program.
  • The Peacocks head to UConn having won two out of the past three games. 
  • Last time on the floor, Saint Peter's played its most impressive game of the season thus far, knocking off in-state rival Fairleigh Dickinson, 86-70 last Wednesday.
  • Senior forward Derrick Woods led the Peacocks with 17 points and 10 rebounds --- his first career double-double --- and freshman Fousseyni Drame followed with a career-high 15 points and nine rebounds.
 
Things to Know Before the Game at UConn
All-Time Series
  • Saint Peter's and UConn will meet for the first time in over three decades when they clash on Wednesday night.
  • The teams are leveled at 3-3 all-time and neither team has ever won consecutive games in the series since the first meeting in 1977.
  • The Peacocks are 1-3 on the road and a perfect 2-0 at home against the Huskies.
  • All three Peacock wins in the series have come by double-figures, having win margins of 25, 24, and 15 points.
  • It has been over 30 years since the last matchup between the two teams, having last met on Feb. 3, 1987 in Jersey City. In that game, Saint Peter's earned a dominating 75-50 win. 
 
Peacocks Starting to Hit Their Stride
  • After two rough losses and a 45.5 points per game average to start the season, Saint Peter's has begun to hit its stride of recent, winning two of the last four games and improving its scoring average to 74.8 points per game over the last four contests. 
  • In addition to winning two out of four, one of the losses came in overtime.
 
Sitting Amongst the Nation's Best 
  • As a team, Saint Peter's is one of the nation's top offensive rebounding units this season, improving several spots to third nationally in offensive rebounds per game (15.17).
  • Individually, freshman Doug Edert ranks among the countries most elite three-point shooters, connecting on 53.1 percent of his attempts --- fourth best on the NCAA leaderboard.
