Quinnipiac Defeats Women’s Volleyball on Saturday Afternoon

HAMDEN, CT – The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team dropped Saturday afternoon's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) match to Quinnipiac University in straight sets (18-25, 12-25, 21-25).

The Match

• Saint Peter's maintained an early advantage in the opening frame, getting out to a 16-15 lead following a kill from Alanis Alvarado. After the one point lead, the Bobcats road a 10-2 run to the first set victory.
• The Peacocks had its worst set of the afternoon in the second, dropping the set 12-25.
• The final set was a battle for the Peacocks as Saint Peter's led early. The two teams exchange blows and midway through the set, Saint Peter's led 12-10. Quinnipiac regained the lead and outscored Saint Peter's 15-9 to win the set and match.

 
Inside the Numbers

• Alvarado was the only player in the game to surpass double-figure kills, posting a match-high 14.
• Wildalys Soto paced the Peacock offense with 22 assists.
• Karla Seda was the defensive leader for Saint Peter's, earning a match-best 18 digs. 
• Danielle Lopez was the team-leader with five total blocks.
