Women’s Volleyball Concludes Season at Rider

Peacocks dropped the match in straight sets

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team closed out the regular season on Saturday with a defeat at hOURglass Rival Rider University. The Peacocks were swept by the Broncs in the match (15-25, 20-25, 17-25).

The Match
 
  • Saint Peter's held a 10-7 lead in the first set, but Rider closed the gap and outscored the Peacocks 18-5 the remainder of the set for the 25-15 win. 
  • Rider posted a wire to wire win in the second set. 
  • In the matches' third and final set, the Peacocks were outmatched, dropping the set 17-25. 
 
Inside the Numbers
  • Four Peacocks combined for all 21 of the team's kills - Angeleyshka Curbelo (8), Alanis Alvarado (6), Danielle Lopez (4), and Stephanie Rivera (3).
  • Wildalys Soto paced the Peacock offense with 17 assists.
  • Karla Seda was the defensive leader for Saint Peter's, with seven digs.
  • Seda finished her historic individual season for the Peacocks, as the defensive specialist averaged 5.42 digs per set and made 596 total digs. The 5.42 average is the programs' all-time best in a single season and her 596 total digs is the second best single season in program history.
