The Saint Peter's University men's soccer team's unprecedented regular season will conclude at home on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. as the Peacocks prepare to host Siena.
The Peacocks will honor captain Frederik Lindqvist prior to the contest during the annual senior day ceremony.
Saint Peter's is coming off a 2-1 overtime victory at home against Manhattan on Oct. 30, maintaining a perfect 5-0-0 record at home on the season. The Peacocks' conference win total improved to eight wins on the season and the win was the eighth straight victory for the team, both program records.
Junior midfielder Jordan Jowers scored first for the Peacocks, finding the back of the net in the 51st minute off a textbook feed from freshman midfielder Omar Seghiri to give the Peacocks a 1-0 advantage.
With less than 10 minutes remaining in regulation, Manhattan's Berti Fourrier put in the equalizer after collecting a loose ball inside the box at the 83rd minute mark to send the match to overtime.
The Peacocks were not to be outdone, however, and in the 95th minute, Lindqvist headed in the golden goal off a double assist from teammates Anton Moore and Jamie Davis to seal the victory for Saint Peter's.
Following the Peacocks' win, and an eventual Iona loss to Rider, Saint Peter's clinched the MAAC regular season title for the first time since 2010, and secured the top overall seed in the 2019 MAAC Men's Soccer Championship.

History with the Saints

The Peacocks and the Saints will line up across from each other for the 31st match in the all-time series on Saturday.
Saint Peter's currently holds an overall record of 12-15-3 against Siena, having played annually since the two sides first met in 1990, including a first round playoff match in 2011.
In the last time out against the Saints, the Peacocks dropped a 2-0 decision in Loudonville on Oct. 31, 2018.

Up Next

The Peacocks will enjoy a healthy resting period as they will receive a first round bye before hosting a MAAC Men's Soccer Championship semifinal match, set to take place on Nov. 14. The Peacocks will face off against the lowest advancing seed from the tounrmanent's first round.
