LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ – The Peacocks allowed a 14-0 run in the second half of Thursday night's game at Rider, leading to a 59-51 defeat in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action.

Game Notes
  • Despite 15 first half turnovers, Saint Peter's (6-14, 3-5) outscored Rider (12-8, 7-1) 28-22 in the first half.
  • Both teams started off slow, as the Peacocks only led 4-2 by the first media break.
  • A transition alley oop from Davauhnte Turner to KC Ndefo put the Peacocks ahead 6-2, before Rider cut into the Peacock lead and tied the game up at 6-6.
  • The game stayed tight, tying a pair of times at 7-7 and 13-13.
  • The two teams exchanged leads four times, before the Peacocks retook the final lead of the half going up 18-17 after two Manny Dixon free throws.
  • Turner and Samuel Idowu combined to score the final 10 Saint Peter's points of the half behind two 3-pointers from Turner and two layups by Idowu, resulting to a 28-22 halftime lead.
  • Saint Peter's opened the second half by extending its lead to the largest of the night at eight points when the Peacocks went up 32-24.
  • Over the next six minutes, the Peacocks gave up a 14-0 run to Rider, allowing the Broncs to take a 38-32 lead.
  • After falling behind, the Peacocks made a late push with back to back dunks from Derrick Woods and Dallas Watson.
  • First in transition, Dixon ran the floor and found Woods in the paint for a two-handed slam.
  • On the ensuing Peacock possession, Watson beat his defender and slammed down a one-handed dunk to cut the deficit to 44-41 with just under eight minutes in the game.
  • The Peacocks eventually got the game to two-points when trailing 47-45, but that would be the closest the team would get, as they failed to get any closer than four points before falling 59-51.
