Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Manhattan for First Conference Win

RIVERDALE, NY - The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team swept Manhattan on Wednesday night, winning in straight sets (25-21) (25-15) (25-15) for their first MAAC win of the season. 
 
Game Notes vs. Manhattan :

• The Peacocks (3-13, 1-2 MAAC) beat Manhattan in straight sets to win the match.
• The Peacocks pulled out a tight first set, earning a slim win (25-21).
• After winning the first set, the Peacocks opened the second set with seven straight points to take a dominant lead.
• The team pulled away in the final two sets winning by double figures in both sets (25-15) (25-15) to earn the match.
• The last time the Peacocks swept a match was on October 25, 2014 against Quinnipiac in Hamden. 
• This is the first MAAC win for the Peacocks since November 8, 2015, a 3-1 win that also came against Quinnipiac.

Inside the Numbers:

• Angeleyshka Curbelo recorded a team high of nine kills in the match. 
• Alexus Sharp added six kills.
• Alanis Alvarado and Karen Ramiu added five kills to help the team. 
• Angelee Ng dished out 23 assists against the Jaspers.
• Karla Seda added a team high of 12 digs for the match.
• Curbelo contributed 10 digs and Ramiu had eight digs.
