Women’s Volleyball Concludes Their Trip at the FAU Invitational

The team fell to The Citadel in their final game at the FAU Invitational in Boca Raton, FL.

BOCA RATON, FL- The Saint Peter's women's volleyball team lost in their final game at the FAU Invitational against The Citadel in four sets. Alanis Alvarado and Karla Seda earned All-Tournament Team honors to conclude their trip in Florida. 
 
Game Notes vs. The Citadel :
  • The Peacocks (2-8) came up short in the final match against The Citadel.
  • Freshman Alanis Alvarado and Sophomore Karla Seda came home with All-Tournament team honors for the FAU Invitational. 
  • The Peacocks dropped the first set 25-21.
  • The team came out strong in the second set winning (25-13). 
  • Despite the close action, Citadel pulled away in the third and fourth sets to get the wins (25-20) (25-21). 
Inside the Numbers:
  • Natalia Velez had a team high of 17 kills. 
  • Alvarado finished with 10 kills and six digs. 
  • Angeleyshka Curbelo was right behind Alvarado with nine kills and six digs. 
  • Karla Seda added 11 digs for the match.
  • Wildalys Soto helped the team with 34 assists for the final game.

  • The Peacocks will come home for a few days before they head to Denver, Colorado for the Denver Invitational.
  • The first day of the tournament, Friday, September 7, the team plays Idaho State at 3:00 p.m. 
  • The following day, the Peacocks play University of Denver (12:00 p.m.) and FDU (4:00 p.m.) on Saturday, September 8.
