Box Score 2 JERSEY CITY, NJ – The Saint Peter's baseball team fell in both games of Saturday's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) doubleheader against Quinnipiac University at Jaroschak Field. The Peacocks lost the first game 4-0, and lost the second contest 28-2. As a result of Saturday's contests, the Peacocks dropped the three-game weekend series to the Bobcats.
Game 1
Starting righty, Willie Krajnik (Lyndhurst, NJ / Saint Mary) pitched a complete game in contest number one. Krajnik (0-2) retired six batters and gave up four runs in the game.
Angel Perez (Jersey City, NJ / Marist HS) went 2-for-3 in the leadoff spot, while Jared Quintero (Paterson, NJ / Passaic County Tech HS) went 1-for-3 in cleanup and Hunter Mason (Marlton, NJ / Cherokee) went 1-for-2 with a double in the designated hitter position.
Game 2
Perez again led the Peacocks at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a scored run in game two. Alex Slawinski (Carteret, NJ / Carteret) went 1-for-3 and recorded an RBI in the in the fifth inning and Anthony Assante (Brick, NJ / Brick Memorial) drove in a run with his single in the eighth.
Anthony Ramos (North Bergen, NJ / North Bergen) made the start and received the decision after tossing 2.2 innings and striking out three batters.
The Peacocks go back to the road on Tuesday, April 4 for a non-conference matchup with St. John's a 3 p.m.
