Box Score 2 BALTIMORE, MD - The Saint Peter's softball team dropped both games in the second day of the Retriever Classic in Baltimore, MD. The Peacocks were defeated by Binghamton in the first game, 28-4, and fell in the second game 9-1 to UMBC.
"We are definitely showing flashes of improvement each time out," said head coach Chris Stelma. "We have four more games to get under our belts before we start conference play."
Game vs. Binghamton Theamaris Ramirez led the team with a home run and three RBI's.
The Peacocks scored their first run in the bottom of the third after Alina Guevara singled to third base advancing Schieler Collins to second and Georgia Verrastro to home base. Shortly after Ramirez hit a three-run homer for the Peacocks' four runs.
Game vs. UMBC
The Peacocks scored their lone run in the top of the fifth inning after Collins singled up the middle advancing Verrastro to home for the run.
Next up
The Peacocks will return to Jersey to challenge non-conference opponent Fairleigh Dickinson. The Peacocks will play the doubleheader on Tuesday, March 27. The first game will start at 2 p.m.
