Opening Words
  • The Saint Peter's men's basketball team resumes action on Saturday, November 10 when the team welcomes Delaware to the Yanitelli Center.
  • Tip-off is set for 6 p.m.
  • In the season home-opener, the Peacocks rallied from 13 down in the second half to knock off Lafayette, 93-86 in overtime, giving first year head coach Shaheen Holloway his first career head coaching win.
  • Four Peacocks scored in double-figures in the win with Davauhnte Turner leading the charge with a team-best 25 points and also dishing out a career-high eight assists.
  • Freshman KC Ndefo (16 points, 10 rebounds) and redshirt-junior guard Cameron Jones (15 points and 10 rebounds) both recorded their first career double-doubles.
  • Samuel Idowu was the final Peacock in double figures, totaling 15 points on an efficient night, going 5-for-6 from the field, 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, and 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.

Scout on the Blue Hens
  • The Delaware Blue Hens enter the game 0-1.
  • The CAA member dropped its season opener to Maryland, 73-67 on Tuesday night.
  • Delaware cut a 22-point deficit to three points late in the game but failed in its comeback attempt.
  • Redshirt-senior Eric Carter scored a career-high 29 points in the defeat, going 12 of 14 from the field in 35 minutes of action while the rest of the team combined to make 14 total field goals.

  • The Peacocks travel to Smithfield, Rhode Island for their first road contest of the season next week for a midweek meeting with Bryant on Wednesday, November 14 at 7 p.m.
 
Peacocks Putting up Points
  • The Peacocks poured in 93 points in the season opener against Lafayette after not hitting the 90-point plateau for almost two full years (90 points on November 18, 2016 vs. Lipscomb).  
 
Not One, But Two…
  • Cameron Jones and KC Ndefo both recorded their first career double-doubles in the season opener against Lafayette. It was the first time since 2013 that two separate Peacocks logged a double-double in the same contest.
 
Overtime Opener
  • Going into overtime in the season opener is not a common occurrence for Saint Peter's. The program last went into an extra period in the season's first game during the 1979-80 campaign.
