Baseball Drops Final Game of Season to Manhattan

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY – The Saint Peter's University baseball team concluded the 2017 season on Saturday afternoon taking on Manhattan College at Dutchess Stadium. The Peacocks dropped the final game to the Jaspers    5-1.  

 

In his final game as a Peacock, senior DJ Nozza (Belle Mead, NJ/Montgomery) went a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI single to lead the team. Hunter Mason (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) scored the lone Peacock run off of Nozza's single down the left field line. Senior Jake Regina (Rutherford, NJ/Rutherford (Gloucester CC)) pitched a complete game, going 8.0 innings, striking out six batters and giving up five earned runs.

 

The Manhattan Jaspers scored one run in the second inning and four runs in the third inning to secure the 5-1 win.   

 

This was the final game for the seven Peacock seniors of Nozza, Regina, Michael Ammerman (Howell, NJ/Howell (Ocean Community College)), Jose Martinez (Browns Mills, NJ / Remberton Township (Hartford CC)), Paul Schifilliti (Toms River, NJ/Toms River East), James Spadaccini (Butler, NJ/Butler) and Kevin Soriano (New Milford, NJ/New Milford).
