Box Score JERSEY CITY, NJ – Freshman forward, Zoe Pero (Secaucus, NJ/St. John Vianney), has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Rookie of the Week after her career-game against Niagara last Friday.
The 6-0 freshman forward helped lead Saint Peter's to a 78-66 conference win over Niagara on December 30 at home in the Yanitelli Center. The win was the second straight MAAC win for Saint Peter's and improved the Peacocks conference record to 2-1, their best start under head coach Pat Coyle. Pero posted her career best of 18 points and 8 rebounds off of the bench in reserve for the Peacocks in the win. She hit 10-of-11 free throws and went 4-of-7 from the field. Pero also led the team with three blocks, and added three assists and one steal to stuff the stat sheet for Saint Peter's in the victory.
On the season, Pero is averaging 3.8 points per game in less than 14 minutes of action in reserve. She is also collecting 2.9 rebounds per game on the year.
Rider's senior guard, Robin Perkins earned the MAAC Player of the Week award along with Pero this week.
