Box Score Bethlehem, PA - The Saint Peter's Volleyball team had a rough start to the season in the Crosstown Tournament, falling to Providence, 3-0.
The Peacocks were led by freshman, Danielle Lopez, who scored her first collegiate points leading the team with 8 kills. Following Lopez, was Marlena Budna with 6 kills.
Providence was led by Jenae Alderson, Allison Impellizeri with 6 kills, and Abagail Dix, Lindsey Schaible with 5 a piece.
Providence's sweep of Saint Peter's adds another win to their overall record, improving their season mark to 3-0.
In the first set, Providence went on a 5-2 run, leading to a 17-11 advantage. Saints Peter's rallied putting themselves just two points behind the Friars at, 18-16. However, Providence would end the set on a 7-1 run, taking the set at 25-17.
In the second set, Saint Peters stayed with Providence again trailing them 14-13. Providence then held Saint Peter's to 15 before winning the set 25-15.
In the last set, with the score even at 9-9, Providence ran away with seven points, followed by a six point rally, to take the third and final set, 25-13.
