Box Score JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Marist College Red Foxes (11-11, 10-2 MAAC) upended the Saint Peter's University Peacocks (4-17, 2-11 MAAC) 74-55 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action on Friday.
Sajanna Bethea (Levittown, Pa. / Pennsbury) paced the Peacocks with a double-double: 18 points and 13 rebounds. Janelle Mullen (Ozone Park, N.Y. / The Hun School of Princeton) followed with 8 points and Talah Hughes (Beacon, N.Y. / Beacon) tallied seven points.
Tori Jarosz led the Red Foxes with a double-double: 19 points and 13 rebounds. Claire Oberdorf followed with 18 points while Sydney Coffey tallied 14 points.
1ST QUARTER
The teams rallied back and forth rallied back and forth in the first quarter. The Red Foxes pulled ahead ending the quarter 27-15.
2ND QUARTER
A 8-0 run by the Red Foxes in the middle of the second quarter brought the score to 39-21. Hughes, Rebecca Sparks (Teaneck, N.J. / Teaneck (Saint Francis)), and Bethea all scored field goals, but Marist maintained the lead 45-23.
3RD QUARTER
The Peacocks picked up during the second half, but Marist was stilla able to hold them off, ending the quarter leading 61-34.
4TH QUARTER
The Peacocks outscored Marist in the fourth quarter 21-13, but that was not enough to close the gap, solidifying the win for the Red Foxes 74-55.
The Peacocks host the Rider University Broncs on Tuesday at 7pm.
