Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, NY - Saint Peter's Women's Volleyball was defeated by Marist Sunday afternoon in the James J. McCann Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Marist downed the Peacocks 0-3 (12-25, 16-25, 13-25). Saint Peter's drops to an overall record of 0-14 and 0-7 in the MAAC.
The Peacocks accumulated 11 kills, 11 assists, 32 digs.
Saint Peter's had a rough start in the first set as Marist scored the first 6 points. Marist was able to keep the strong lead as they reached the midpoint at 12-5, paving the way to finish the set 25-12.
The Red Foxes carried the momentum into the second as they led early at 9-3. Saint Peter's stuck in as they fought to catch up, only falling behind three points at 7-10. The Peacocks failed to catch up as they fell behind 10 points at 19-9. Marist allowed Saint Peter's 7 more points before they won the set 25-16.
The third set started off with a familiar 6-point lead from the Red Foxes at 4-10 which led to doubling Saint Peter's score 6-12 midway. The Peacocks continued to play as they posted seven more points on the scoreboard until Marist ended the set 25-13 with a 8-point stretch into the win.
The Peacocks host two home games against Iona on Oct. 15th and Manhattan on the 16th.
