BOSTON, Mass. – Jermaine Lascelles (Bloomfield, Conn./Bloomfield) paced the Saint Peter's track and field team with a 16th-place standing in the 400-meter dash at the John Thomas Terrier Classic over the weekend.
Lascelles, who is the current Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Track Performer of the Week, placed 16th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.50 after posting a time of 48.44 at the NYC Gotham Cup last weekend to earn the league honor.
Michael Marcano (Roselle, N.J./Roselle Catholic) also finished in the Top-20 with a 17th-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.02) while Wellington Brown (Union, N.J./Union) was 19th in the long jump (21-11).
Shaka Shomari (Hempstead, N.Y./Holy Trinity) placed 26th in the 200-meter dash (21.97) and 29th in the 60-meter dash (7.07). Kenneth Brosier (Willingboro, N.J./Burlington County Institute of Technology) placed 33rd in the 400-meter dash (49.08) and Dexter Valley (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) was 42nd in the event (49.34).
On the women's side, Ennica Jacob (Union, N.J./Union) recorded a 30th-place standing in the 60-meter hurdles (9.35). Danielle Correia (Freeport, N.Y./Kellenburg Memorial) was 48th in the 60-meter hurdles (9.59). Nkeka Pinheiro (Ajax, Ontario/Ajax) placed 46th in the 60-meter dash (8.89) and 49th in the 200-meter dash (25.60) while Carolina Herrera (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) was 49th in the 60-meter dash (8.10).
Saint Peter's returns to action at the Metropolitan Championships on Friday at the Ocean Breeze Park Track and Field in Staten Island.
