The telling sign that it would not be Saint Peter's night came in the first 81 seconds in the game when a layup went around the rim two or three times and each time looking like it would fall through the next only to see it not fall into the visitor's hands for a defensive rebound.
Taylor gave Rider the lead it would not relinquish on a layup 64 seconds into the game. Lundy powered the run to start the game with eight points. The Broncs extended its lead to 34-10 with 4:41 left in the first half and went into the locker room with a 41-22 advantage.
The Peacocks trimmed the margin to 14 points early in the second half and 15 points a couple of times, but could get no closer and Rider came away with the 76-45 victory on ESPN 3.
It marked the third-straight year the two teams have met on ESPN3 at the Yanitelli Center and the Broncs have won all three meetings. The loss ended Saint Peter's two-game win streak against its hOURglass Rival.
The Peacocks return to action on Saturday in another hOURglass Rivalry matchup against Monmouth. Tip off is 7 p.m. The Hawks, who are a game ahead of Saint Peter's in the standings are in first place, while the Peacocks sit in third place in the league.
