Box Score JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Saint Peter's and Mother Nature both had the same idea this weekend. A Whiteout. While the New Jersey-New York metropolitan area is forecasted to be blanketed with 11 to 17 inches of snow through Saturday, the snow will be over by Sunday and Saint Peter's will host Manhattan at 3 p.m. at the Yanitelli Center on ESPN3. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will get a newly designed free white "Strut Your Pride" t-shirt.
Saint Peter's comes into play on Friday in first place with a 6-1 record, its best start in program history since the 1994-95 season. The Peacocks are a half game ahead of Iona and Monmouth after Manhattan defeated Monmouth 78-71 on Thursday. Saint Peter's will travel to Iona on Friday in a first-place showdown with the winner ending the night in the top spot.
The Peacocks come into Friday's tilt in New Rochelle 8-8 overall and 6-1 in league play after defeating Fairfield 77-71 on Tuesday. Freshman Antwon Portley posted 23 points and junior Trevis Wyche added 20 points against the Stags. Portley leads the team with 15.3 points per game.
The Jaspers will come into play on Sunday 8-10 overall and 5-4 in league play. Calvin Crawford came off the bench to score 20 points to lead Manhattan past the Hawks. Shane Richards leads the team with 17.7 points per game.
