The Word On The Mountain Hawks- Lehigh has started the 2015 season with a 1-2 record, beating St. Francis Brooklyn and losing to both Northern Arizona and James Madison. Stephanie Slater is leading the team with 30 kills, and right behind her is Ana Vrhel with 28. The Mountain Hawks ended the 2014 season with a 22-10 record, and made it to the second round of the Patriot League Tournament, where they fell to the number one seed American University.
GAME 2: Saint Peter's (0-0) at Lafayette (0-1)

WHERE: Kirby Sports Center (Lafayette)
The Word On The Leopards- Lafayette comes into the weekend with having only played one game against La Salle, in which they were beaten. Jet Manzi is leading the Leopards with seven kills. On the 2014 season, Lafayette finished with a record of 6-22 falling short of their conference tournament.
GAME 3: Saint Peter's (0-0) vs. Farleigh Dickinson (1-2)

The Word On The Knights- Farleigh Dickinson has started the 2015 campaign with a 1-2 record, beating Hampton and losing to both Liberty and UNC Greensboro. Alex Loland is leading the Knights with 23 kills. Right behind her is Rebecca Sabol with 21 kills of her own. FDU finished the season with a record of 6-23 on the 2014 season also falling short of their conference tournament.
Opening Word- Friday's season opener against Lehigh will be the 13th time the Peacocks play the Mountain Hawks, and have had a combined all time record of 4-8 against them. The two teams will be meeting for the first time since the 2013 season, when they faced each other twice.
For Starters- Head Coach Monica Dempsey is set to begin her first season with the Peacocks. Dempsey comes to SPU after being the head coach of the Sideout Sports Volleyball Club in Fairfield N.J. since 2013. Dempsey was also a starter on the Goldey-Beacom College Women's Volleyball team for four years.
Welcome Back- The Peacocks are returning three players from the 2014 season, in Lauren Behrens, Amanda Colombo and Kaitlyn Sitton. Behrens, who begins her senior year on Friday, has been a starter ever since her freshman year in 2012. Behrens also led the team in kills last season with 316.
Garden State Of Mind- Amanda Colombo, hailing from Wallington, New Jersey, is the only member of the team from the Garden State.
Out Of State- The 2015 Women's Volleyball team has quite the traveled roster this season, having seven players from outside of New Jersey. As we already know, Behrens is from Illinois, and Sitton is from Washington. For the newcomers, Alvarez is from Maryland, Budna and Gonzalez are from neighboring state New York, McGinnis is from Texas and lastly Varvell is from the other side of the country, California.
Preseason Poll- The 2014 MAAC Champion Siena Saints, have been chosen as the preseason favorites for the 2015 season. Right behind them, tied for second, is Fairfield and Manhattan. Saint Peter's was chosen as 10th.
