Saint Peter's Track & Field Wrap Up MAAC Outdoor Championships; Men's And Women's Teams Finish Fifth Overall

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – The Saint Peter's track and field team wrapped up the final day of the 2015 MAAC Outdoor Championships on Sunday. 

Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, NY / Farmingdale) finished second overall in the women's triple jump event with a leap of 11.59-meters. Meredith Przybocki (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush) placed third in the women's high jump with a height of 1.65-meters. Hasaana Smith (Newark, N.J. / Malcolm X. Shabazz) and Cajou rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Peacocks in the event.

Jermaine Lascelles (Bloomfield, Conn. / Bloomfield) finished tied for second in the men's high jump with a 1.99-meter performance. Aondofa Anyam (Exton, Pa. / Church Farm School) placed sixth overall in the men's triple jump with a 13.70-meter effort. Lascelles also finished fourth in the men's 400-meter event. 

Lance Weaver (Piscataway, NJ / Piscataway) finished fourth in the 800-meter event, clocking a time of 1:53.97. Jose Mercado (Paterson, N.J. / Passaic County Tech) placed seventh overall in the men's javelin throw with a toss of 51.41-meters.

In the women's 400-meter run, Vanessa Whittingham (Bloomfield, Conn. / Bloomfield) and Raquel Henderson (Ocean Twp, N.J. / Ocean Township) placed fifth and sixth respectively in the event. 

Michael Marcano (Roselle, N.J. / Roselle Catholic) notched a fifth-place finish in the men's 100-meter dash with an 11.21-second effort. He also finished fourth in the men's 200-meter run. In the women's 100-meter, Nkeka Pinheiro (Ajax, Ontario / Ajax) placed fifth with a time of 12.35-seconds. She also notched a second place finish in the 200-meter event.

The Monmouth men's team placed first overall with 266 points. Coming in second was Manhattan with 181 points, followed by Rider (127), Iona (117), Saint Peter's (59), Marist (38) and Canisius (23) to round out the standings. 

The Monmouth women's team also finished first, collecting 260.2 points. Coming in second was Quinnipiac with 127 points, followed by Rider (122), Manhattan (103.6), Saint Peter's (66.6), Iona (53), Marist (41.6), Niagara (28) and Canisius (15).

Members of the team will return to action on May 15-17 to compete at the IC4A/ECAC Outdoor Championships at Princeton.
