STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's track and field team captured eight first-place finishes at the Wolfie Invitational on Saturday.
Michael Marcano (Roselle, NJ / Roselle Catholic) notched a first-place nod in the 100-meter run with a 10.94-second performance. Dexter Valley (West Orange, N.J. / West Orange) finished first in the 200-meter dash with an effort of 22.24 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles, Jamel Presley earned the first place honor with a time of 14.59 seconds.
The tandem of Brandon Kelly (Newark, N.J. / Union Catholic), Marcano, Presley and Valley finished in first in the 4x100 relay with a 42.67 second performance.
The Peacocks swept all three men's jumping events. Jermaine Lascelles (Bloomfield, Conn. / Bloomfield) earned first places in the long and triple jump events. Osafi Fordyce (Newark, N.J. / Weequahic) notched a first place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 13.24-meters.
Meredith Przybocki (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush) placed first overall in the women's high jump with a leap of 1.60-meters.
Nkeka Pinheiro (Ajax, Ontario / Ajax) finished third overall in the women's 100-meter run with a 12.50 second performance. Raquel Henderson finished fifth overall in the women's 400-meter run with a time of 1:01.23.
Kurt Espiritu (Kearny, N.J. / Saint Peter's Prep) finished fourth overall in the shot put with a toss of 12.79-meters. Jose Mercado (Paterson, N.J. / Passaic County Tech) placed third in the javelin throw with a 50.88-meter effort.
Shenell Garner (Cocoa Beach, Fla. / Cocoa Beach) finished second overall in the women's hammer event and fifth in the women's discus. Chandler Copeland (Manchester, N.J. / Manchester Twp.) used an 11.52-meter toss in the women's shot put to finish second overall.
Saint Peter's returns to action on Apr. 25 when the team travels to TCNJ to compete in the Lions' Invitational.
