Box Score Saint Peter's fell to Fairfield 6-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer action this Wednesday. This game concluded the season for the Peacocks. Seniors Kaitlyn Lima (Kearny, N.J. / Kearny (New Jersey City)) and Kirsten Mueller (East Northport, N.Y. / Commack (Harcum College)) were honored before kickoff.
The Stags scored within the first three minutes of the first half. Saint Peter's tried to stay in the game, however, the Stags pulled away with a goals by Jenny Jacobs at the 28:30 and 31:42 marks.
Fairfield scored again five minutes later, bringing the score to 4-0. Barbara Paiva made a shot that was saved by Fairfield goalie Jenna Pike. Shortly after, Elena Santos of Fairfield scored a goal.
As the second half commenced, Saint Peter's tried to catch up with shots by Barbara Paiva during the 72nd minute. At the 84:27 mark, Paiva attempted another shot which was saved by Jenna Pike. The Peacocks were not able to convert any shots, ending the game 0-6.
The Peacocks end the season with a 2-15-0 record overall and a 0-10-0 record in the MAAC.
Barbara Paiva (Kearny, N.J. / Kearny) ends this season with six goals for 12 points followed by Michelle Laz (Georgetown, Del. / Sussex Tech.) with four goals and three assists for 11 points. Brooke Tartis (Neptune, N.J. / Neptune (Brookdale CC)) adds four goals and one assists for nine points this season. Goalie Kelly Jamison (Jackson, N.J. / Jackson Memorial) has a goal assist average of 4.50 with 64 saves and a .582 percentage.
