Box Score NEW ROCHELLE, NY - Saint Peter's fell to Iona 1-5 in this week's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) women's soccer action on Wednesday.
Iona's Meagan Wood scored within the first three minutes of the match, assisted by Charlotte Stuart. Kaityn Lima (Kearny, N.J. / Kearny (New Jersey City)) scored her second goal this season for the Peahens at the 19:56 mark in the first half, tying the match 1-1.
The Gaels pulled ahead early in the second half with a goal by Brianna Hernandez, assisted by Charlotte Stuart and Julia Campagna. Kelly Jamison of Saint Peter's made two saves in a row in the 54th minute.
With shots by Barbara Paiva, Kelsey Nugent, and Alix Couto, the Peahens tried to get back in the game, but the Gaels pulled away with goals by Marisa Bentley, Brianna Hernandez, and Kim Marra.
Lima made the only goal of the game, bringing her to two goals for four points overall this season. Goalie Kelly Jamison now stands at a 4.74 goal assist average with 50 saves and a .562 percentage.
The Peahens head to Canisius for their last away game of the season on Saturday for a 7pm match.
