Box Score JERSEY CITY, NJ - Saint Peter's fell to Iona 2-1 in this week's Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) men's soccer action on Wednesday.
Jack Fisher (Leeds, England / Heckmondwike Grammer) School scored his second goal of the season, assisted by Luke Fairlamb (Northampton, England / Unity College) at the 18:01 minute mark in the first half. Jamie Cleland (Dunfermine, Scotland / Woodmill High School) of the Peacocks (7-6-1, 4-3-0 MAAC) caught a penalty kick at the 21:50 mark, preventing the Gaels from scoring. Iona attempted to come back with a shot by Daniel Huerta but with no success for the remainder of the first half.
After a several shot attempts, Huerta finally scored, tying the game at 1-1 at the 23:23 mark in the second half. Iona (9-6-1, 5-3-0 MAAC) then took the lead just over a minute later with another goal by Killian Colombie, assisted by Marcos Nunez.
Fisher and Fairlamb paced the Peacocks with one goal and one assist, respectively. Colombie and Huerta each scored a goal and Marcos Nunez added one assist for the Gaels.
The Peacocks will host Canisius on Saturday at 2pm.
