NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's track and field team competed in the 2015 Gotham Cup at the New Balance Track and Field Armory on Friday.
Jamel Presley (Rochester, N.Y. / Rahway) placed sixth in the 60 hurdles with a clocked performance of 8.20 seconds. Karl Desil (Baldwin, N.Y. / Baldwin) finished in the top-half of the competition in the 400-meter with a run of 51.96. John Paul Herrera also competed in the event (Bayonne, N.J. / Bayonne). Jermaine Lascelles (Bloomfield, Conn. / Bloomfield) recorded a 1.99-meter effort in the men's high jump to notch a sixth-place finish.
Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J. / Piscataway) finished 16th out of 91 runners in the 800-meter with a 1:57.67 effort. In the men's 4x400 event, Saint Peter's posted a top-10 finish with a time of 3:23.11.
Selena Marshall (New Rochelle, N.Y. / New Rochelle) placed in the top-50 in the 800-meter with a 2:37.34. Jackie Anderson (Bay Shore, N.Y. / Bay Shore) rounded out the Peacock finishes in the event. Vanesa Whittingham (Bloomfield, Conn. / Bloomfield) finished 31st out of 100 participants in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.26.
Meredith Przybocki (Pine Bush, N.Y. / Pine Bush) placed sixth in the high jump with a leap of 1.65-meters. Hasaana Smith (Newark, N.J. / Malcolm X. Shabazz) and Milagros Robinson (Riverside, N.J. / Riverside) rounded out the Peacock participants in the event.
Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.Y. / Baldwin) finished in the top-10 in the weight throw with a toss of 16.54-meters.
Saint Peter's returns to action today to compete in the St. Joseph's Winter Invitational.
