MEET: ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships

opening stretch… Several members of the Saint Peter's track and field team will be competing in the ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Championships.
last time out… Saint Peter's last competed in the MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 6.
- The women's team finished in fifth overall while the men came in fourth place.
- Isaiah Harris was named Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events for the second consecutive outdoor season. He also earned this accolade during the indoor season.
- Harris notched first place finishes in all three jumping events. Harris won the high jump with a 2.09-meter effort. Harris set a MAAC outdoor record in the triple jump with a leap of 15.38-meters. In the long jump, Harris used a 7.21-meter performance to finish first.
- Sunita Kumar notched top-10 finishes in the women's high jump and in the women's 100M hurdles.
- Steffany Laureano came in the second in the women's 400M dash with a time of 56.86 seconds.
- Lance Weaver finished fourth in the men's 800M run with a time of 1:54.13.
all-american honors for harris… Isaiah Harris was a Second Team All-American selection for his performance during the indoor season.
breaking indoor marks… Isaiah Harris, Ieshawn Johnson and Dexter Valley have set new Saint Peter's indoor records this season. Harris set a new mark in the high jump with his leap of 2.21-meters. Johnson set a new mark in the weight throw with his toss of 18.52-meters. He is the first Peacock ever to surpass the 60' mark. Valley set new marks in the 200-meter with a time of 21.94 and in the 400-meter with a time of 48.84 seconds.
maac honors for harris… Isaiah Harris earned MAAC Indoor Track and Field Male Performer Of The Week honors for his performance in the Great Dane Classic. Harris notched a first place finish in the triple jump with a height of 15.15-meters. He also set a Saint Peter's indoor track and field record in the high jump with a jump of 2.15-meters. His strong performance earned him IC4A qualifying marks for both events.
maac honors for laureano… Steffany Laureano earned MAAC Indoor Track and Field Female Performer Of The Week honors for her performance in the Brother Jasper Invitational. Laureano becomes the first track and field athlete to earn a MAAC award this season and the first female track and field athlete to receive a MAAC award since teammate Shona Potrzuski last season.
back on the track… The NCAA Outdoor Regionals will be held on May 29-31.
ncaa honors for harris… Isaiah Harris concluded his 2012-13 campaign earning a trip to the NCAA Championships East Preliminary round where he competed in the Triple Jump and the High Jump.
welcome back… The men and women's teams return a number of top performers back in 2013-14. Those members include Isaiah Harris, Shona Potrzuski, Jamel Presley, Gina Nocerino, Lance Weaver, Mohamed Merdan, Latasha Green, Essence Rogers, Steffany Laureano, Ieshawn Johnson and many others.
about the coach… Head coach Mike Massone is entering his ninth season as the men and women's track and field head coach.
