STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's men and women's jumpers excelled at the Wolfie Invitational on Saturday hosted by Stony Brook University.
The jumpers placed first in five of the six jumping events. Isaiah Harris (Orange, N.J./Immaculate Conception) placed first in the triple jump with a performance of 14.58 meters. Harris later posted a 2.04 effort that landed him a first place finish in the high jump.
On the women's side, Shaena Wizzard (Teaneck, N.J./Teaneck) placed first in the long jump with a leap of 5.19 meters. Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, N.Y./Farmingdale High School) posted an 11.22 meter performance in the triple jump that notched a first place finish, and to complete the trifecta, Hasaana Smith (Newark, N.J./Malcolm X. Shabazz) used a 1.57 meter effort to finish first in the high jump.
Alexandra Moffatt (Smithville, Texas/Smithville) placed first in the pole vault, recording a height of 3.05 meters. Paige Vicari (West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) came in the third, posting a 2.60 meter performance.
Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.Y,/Baldwin) came in first place in the discus throw, posting a distance of 46.04 meters. Kenny Aneke (Long Island, N.Y./Holy Trinity) came in second in the shot put with a toss of 14.47 meters. Bentley Whitfield (Massapequa, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) finished third in the hammer throw with a throw of 46.85 meters.
Regina Raglan finished first in the discus throw with a toss of 34.76 meters. Aicha Elola (Jersey City, N.J./Lincoln High School) came in second with 33.90 meters. Amanda Marcelin (West Orange, N.J./West Orange High School) and Shenell Garner (Cocoa Beach, Fla./Cocoa Beach) rounded out the top-five finishes for the Peacocks.
Shona Potrzuski notched a first place performance in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.83. Steffany Laureano (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) placed second in the 200 meter dash with a 25.19 second effort.
Dexter Valley (West Orange, N.J./West Orange High School) posted a first place finish in the 100 meter dash, recording a time of 10.99 seconds. Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J/Piscataway High School) came in third in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:53.09. Tevin Cunningham (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) came in second in the 200 meter dash with a 22.74 second effort.
The women's team placed second out of five schools, posting a point total of 138 points. New Hampshire finished first with 196 points, while Fordham came in third with 67, followed by Stony Brook with 66, and Marist in last with 4 points.
The men's team finished third out of five schools with 117 points. First place was New Hampshire with a total of 226 points, followed by Stony Brook with 119 points.
The squad returns to action on Apr. 26 to compete in the TCNJ Meet.
