LAWERENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Saint Peter's track and field team competed at the Rider Invite on Saturday.
Isaiah Harris (Orange, N.J./Immaculate Conception) came in first place in the triple jump with a 15.17 meter effort. Dashawn Putman (Jersey City, N.J./St. Peter's Prep) placed third in the event, recording a leap of 13.64 meters.
Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.Y./Baldwin) notched a first place finish in the discus throw with a toss of 47.03 meters. Jose Mercado (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) finished third in the javelin throw, with a throw of 50.84 meters.
Lance Weaver (Piscataway, N.J./Piscataway High School) came in first place in the men's 1500 meter run, notching a time of 3:59.15. Shona Potruzski (Pitman, N.J./Pitman) finished in first in the 400 meter hurdles with a 1:04.26 performance.
Steffany Laureano (Brentwood, N.Y./Brentwood) recorded a first place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 55.91 seconds. Laureano also finished second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.11 seconds.
Alexandra Moffatt (Smithville, T.X/Smithville) finished sixth in the pole vault with a height of 3.10 meters. Regina Ragland placed seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 40.98 meters. Jennifer Cajou (Amityville, N.Y./Farmingdale High School) notched a top-5 performance in the long jump with a 5.44 meter effort.
Bentley Whitfield (Massapequa, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) recorded a top-10 finish in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 46.60 meters. Wellington Brown (Union, N.J./Union High School) finished fourth in the long jump with a 6.84 meter performance. Jose Mercado (Paterson, N.J./Passaic County Tech) finished third in the javelin throw, with a throw of 50.84 meters.
Natalia Carvalho (Naugatuck, Conn./Naugatuck) recorded a top-15 finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:54.74. Dexter Valley (West Orange, N.J./West Orange High School) placed fifth in the men's 400 meter dash with a sprint of 49.13 seconds. Tevin Cunningham (North Bergen, N.J./North Bergen) placed ninth with a 49.85 second performance.
The squad returns to action on Apr. 19, when the team is set to compete in the Wolfie Invitational.
