PALISADES PARK, N.J. – Michael Mercano (Roselle, N.J./Roselle Catholic) paced the Peacocks with two first place finishes at the FDU Knights Classic on Saturday.
Mercano placed first in the 100-meter dash with a sprint of 11.58 seconds. He also came in first in the 200-meter dash with a run of 24.22.
Jamel Presley (Rochester, N.Y./Rahway High School) notched a first place finish in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.49 seconds. He also placed third in the 200-meter event with a 24.42 second performance. John Paul Herrera (Bayonne, N.J./Bayonne) finished sixth in the 800-meter run, notching a time of 2:07.22
Dominique Ware (Penns Grove, N.J./Penns Grove) finished in second place in the Triple Jump, recording a leap of 12.45-meters. Ieshawn Johnson (Long Island, N.Y./Baldwin) also placed second in the Discus Throw with a toss of 45.91-meters. Bentley Whitfield (Massapequa, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) notched a third place finish in the Hammer Throw with a throw of 48.88-meters.
The squad returns to action Apr. 5 when the team competes in the Liberty Collegiate Invitational.
