Track And Field Competes In The Wagner Invitational On Saturday

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The Saint Peter's track and field team competed at the Wagner Invitational on Saturday.

In the field events, Regina Raglan notched a first-place finish in the Hammer throw with a toss of 41.27-meters. Madeleine Feeney (Jersey City, N.J./St. Dominic Academy) came in sixth-place with a throw of 31.57-meters.

Bentley Whitfield (Massapequa, N.Y./Saint Anthony's) placed third in the Hammer Throw with a distance of 45.10-meters. Amanda Marcelin (West Orange, N.J./West Orange High School) finished fourth in the Discus Throw with a toss of 31.39-meters. Raglan and Shenell Garner (Cocoa Beach, Fla./Cocoa Beach) rounded out the top-10 finishes for the Peacocks.

In the track events, Brandon Kelly (Newark, N.J./Union Catholic High School) placed 14th in the 400-meter dash with a run of 53.58 seconds. Michael Mercano (Roselle, N.J./Roselle Catholic) finished 20th in the event with a time of 54.23 seconds.

Jose Baxter notched a top-five finish in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.96 seconds. Soloman Crawford (Avenel, N.J./Colonia)  placed seventh, notching a time of 1:00.46.

Saint Peter's returns to action Mar. 29, when the team competes in the FDU Knights Classic.
