Saint Peter's Baseball Announces Schedule Changes To Weekend Series At Canisius

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Saint Peter's baseball Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) opening series at Canisius, originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, has been moved to Friday and Saturday due to impending weather scheduled to hit the Buffalo area this weekend. The two teams will play a doubleheader that consists of a nine-inning game followed by a seven-inning contest on Friday starting at 1 p.m. The two teams will then conclude the three-game series on Saturday with a nine-inning affair starting at 12 p.m.

The first game will feature Peacocks right-hander Zach Hopf (Woodbridge, N.J./Woodbridge) against right-hander Rohn Pierce. Right-hander Frank Morris (Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman [Seton Hall]) is scheduled to take the hill in the nightcap on Friday against southpaw Alex Godzak before right-hander Mark Wilson (Clark, N.J./Arthur L. Johnson) and right-hander Devon Stewart start on Saturday to complete the three-game set.

The defending MAAC Tournament champions and preseason favorite Golden Griffins battle Buffalo on Wednesday before hosting Saint Peter's this weekend. Canisius is 10-7 on the year. The Peacocks head to Seton Hall on Wednesday afternoon with lefty Adam Purcilly (Troy, Mich./Avondale) set to take the mound and currently stand at 3-12 on the year.

It will be the second-straight year Saint Peter's will travel to Canisius for the opening weekend in the league.
